I was born and raised in Oregon, and have also lived in Seattle, on the East Coast and in California. I feel fortunate to have devoted ten years as a stay-at-home mom raising my three children, then earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Washington and becoming Certified as an Ayurvedic Consultant. Graduating with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I finished a year-long internship with the M.E.T.A Counseling Clinic in Portland, completed the Hakomi Mindful Somatic Professional Skills Module, the Re-Creation of the Self Module, and the Primary Attachment Psychotherapy Module. I am a licensed counselor in both Oregon and Washington.

I have explored various aspects of mental health and its relation to physical health through my work as a hospital nurse, working on the psychiatric units at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital and Harborview Medical Center, and at Stanford Medical Center and all the Providence Hospitals in the Portland metro area. I have studied psychology through an eastern perspective, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment consultations to clients using Ayurvedic medicine. And I have compassionately raised three children into adulthood. These various life and educational experiences have seasoned my rich understanding and reverence towards human diversity with a deep respect for the unique healing path that each person discovers for themselves. It's given me the ability to blend eastern and western traditions of healthy mind, body, spirit and soul, by incorporating mindfulness, somatic awareness, experiential techniques, and relational practices into my counseling sessions.
